Sold!!

So as many are aware, I bought land, put a house up and then watched a huge club/casino be erected right on the border of mine. Now it had not caused any lag that I was aware of, I think because we were on different sims; however, I was not able to keep up with the mute function on the various raffle balls, and other items that come with a script...so when I was at home, my screen would sometimes scroll with things resembling "we need one more person to start the raffle..." As such I placed my home for sale, and because I wasn't so sure I wanted to sell, I put the price high.

Well, when I signed in yesterday, I found myself drowning in the ocean and ban lines around my island...and my lindens waaaay up...someone had bought it!!! I had mixed feelings, but most of all relief. I learned a few things about buying and selling, made a profit, and know better what to look for next time.

That being said, the sale also made me think of other things. I was born an to replace an avie that was being harassed, and that avie was also an alt. I was created to explore some sides of SL that my twin was a little shy of. But time and experience has made her less shy, and it has become a dilemma on which of us to play in SL with. I think I am going to lose, and perhaps be retired. I am not saying this for sympathy or any other responses, I am just thinking out loud. My stay in SL was short, but filled with fun and I thank the people I met who helped me learn how to enjoy it even more.

I also learned that being a blond is a license to have more fun*g*

When the decision is made, I will say my goodbyes, but until then, I would like to thank everyone who reads this blog and has taken the time to leave comments and advice.

Hair and PINK!!!

I was chuckling to myself as I caught up on some of my favorite blogs and nursed my first cup of tea. I was sure that Wrath must have been drinking something way stronger than green tea based on his blog entry for the day. I mean come on...most of us might see pink elephants or flying piglets...but a plethora o pink flamingos...pluheeeze.

OOHHHH, sweet news, not one but two new freebie hairs...I decided I must immediately go and purchase them, before my wee blonde elf brain was distracted with other shiny things.

Gurl6 and Sirena both put out some great new hair recently (I want it, I want it), but they also put out my most favorite type of new hair FREEEEEEEEE...quality free hair...thank you so so much...





I then heard some odd splashing coming from my pond, and quickly remembered that in my rush to purchase hair, I had neglected to feed my koi...bad bad koi mommy :(

As I walked towards my small pond, I was startled.....my heart was in my throat!

Surely mine eyes must be playing tricks on me...the euphoria of finding 2 wonderful free hair in one day, creating chaos within my mind and illusions in my sight...

But noooo...there he was in all his glorious pinkness...THE Mr. Flamingo, I am absolutely sure of it. That being said I quickly considered that he had been seen all over the grid and now found the isolation of Dromio, and my concern and shock quickly changed to worry that his travels may have induced an appetite, I was quite distressed for the safety of my koi and my wee froggie. A quick search on flamingo's provided me with the following information...
"The shape of flamingo's filtering bill determines its diet. A flamingo will either have a shallow or a deep-keeled bill. Lesser, James', and Andean flamingos have deep-keeled bills and feed mainly on algae and diatoms.Greater, Caribbean, and Chilean flamingos have shallow-keeled bills and feed on insects, aquatic invertebrates, and small fishes."

Whew..my mind was immediately at ease, my Koi and Froggie were way too big for him to consume.
I wonder...what is Mr. Flamingo looking for, is it just innocent exploration as Timothy suggests, or is there something more pressing and urgent prompting him???

When I saw Natalias new releases this week I just *knew* Amanda would work with my ears perfectly. (I also liked the too cute fuzzy hair tie..cause I am odd like that) I'm sure all you out there with any type of earage understand how annoying it can be to get your hair to work with your ears. So today, I bought it, and love it, but I just about wet myself laughing when I was trying to adjust it in her shop, because every time I stood on her pose stands...I got this look on my face...

From being an avid reader of her blog, I know she has a wicked and silly sense of humor, so I am wondering...is this on purpose??? LOL

Here is the hair adjusted, and my eyes refocused...and I was right...the hair is wonderful...and works with my ears perfectly!! and come on...the fuzzy pompom are just too cute...you have to admit...I figure they will distract people when I kill em with my samurai moves...eventually *G*

Ears? eh? say what?

I started this post a while back..back before I had ears, and then..I forgot to post it...so here it is..with some helpful pictures..


I am an elf, kinda...well I think I am...nuff said, and I was on a quest...for ears, sounds simple you are thinking...I know it...I can hear you thinking it, remember...I am an elf! (we gots powers like that)

There are TONs of ears in SL...for KITTIES...bah..maybe one day, cause I think they are kinda cute..but ahem...I am getting sidetracked. I want BIG POINTY ears. The ones I create in appearance mode...just look like I f'ked up.
hmm...so I search for ears....

oh..I forgot to mention...I want them pierced..yes..to match other parts of my anatomy *eg*
I find a couple...flexi, not pierced, and skintone no where near to mine..*sigh* I find another, pierced but wingy, like a cat chewed on them...oh, I found them at a neko place..so I am thinking..the cat did get at em.
I am beginning to think, I will have to cave, and make due. I am even begging in my profile.."IM me if you know where I can get pierced elf ears"...*sigh*

And then...I find them...oh so loverly..pointed with variations of piercings and and and...wait for it..

its worth it...

They come with FREAKING INSTRUCTIONS!! Yes instructions on how to fit them and and and...wait for it...

ohh yes, its worth it....

Instructions on how to tint them to match your skin...yes yes YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS. (now maybe to you SL vets, this is like omg so elementary....but to me...oh YESSSSSSSSS) and if I would had had this knowledge before, I could have used it on the above ears.

So I gots me a pair and worked and worked...and here is a bit of the process (The text in red is the makers instructions that were included with the ears)








if you have a modifiable shape, make the linden ears as small and tight as you can, i.e. angled in, attached lobe, whatnot.
1. wear ears from inventory

2. take your hair off so you can see better







3. edit ears

4. position one ear so it is sticking out of your head just like you want it to (you shouldn't have to rotate, but if you want to do that please read the rest of these instructions so you know how to rotate everything you want to rotate at once, ok)5. now that one ear is fitted correctly, you are ready to move the other (and all the earrings, studs, etc) in to match. this is where it can get tricky, but do not worry, i have faith in you!6. click the "edit linked parts" radial button in the edit window.7. left click the ear you still need to position8. hold down the shift key and left click all jewlery on that ear, do not forget the gold casings for the diamond studs, and do realize that the spikes are two prims each, front and back of ear, and the loop piercing with the balls on the end is three prims, GRAB THEM ALL9. move ear into head so it matches the other side10. you are done, you crafty av you




now, lets get those skin tones right, you don't wanna be walkin around with ears that don't match the rest of you, do you? of course not.
1. go somewhere unobstructed, like a platform in the sky, or a nice open area without a lot of traffic2. force sun to noon3. take off your shirt and any tattoos or attachments that may hinder your view of the skin on your back4. hold down the alt key, left click on your back (and continue to hold the left mouse button down) then use the mouse to zoom in close to your back so as much of it takes up the screen as possible.5. press the snapshot button on the bottom of your screen, click the radial button "save to hard drive"6. use your photo program to cut out a nice square of your skin texture, try to make it as seamless as possible7. paste the new texture in a new window in your photo program, name it something that has the name of that particular skin in it so you can find it later when you make other skin textures for other skins you use8. up the pic (in sl, file, upload pic, this will cost you 10L)9. edit ears again, no need for a pose stand10. if you have ears with jewlery you will need to click the "edit linked parts" radial button and select one ear, then hold shift and select the other, if you don't do this, you will texture your jewlery to match your skin too, and that is probably not the desired affect you are trying for (if you just have the plain ears, you can simply edit as a whole)11. click the more button in the edit window if you do not have the advanced portion of the screen12. select the texture tab13. left click on the texture box14. type the name of your new skin texture in the search box at the top of the texture window15. select your skin texture16. look at you, all matching your skin texture to body attachments, you! i'm so proud of you, lookin good

The top pic is the first pair of ears I tweaked and adjusted, and bottom is another more pierced version. I altered the angle a little...but both are equally cute, don't you think??

Update on the big yeller blob...

Well the big yellow blob that is my neighbour and snuggles right up to me on the borderline, now has a name....Club Tropicana...can I hear a woot woot...

I did my best to fix the view of the blob from when I am standing on my deck..I used some bamboo fencing and a screen from depoz...This view shows the club if you look up...but if you are just walking about..it works pretty good

And of course, I need to remember that so far, no major lag, as the yellow blob is located on another sim..so that is a plus. However, if someone was to come along and want to buy my 1024, I would now readily consider selling *sigh*

At least I still have my moon...and I finally got my radio to work...ending on a positive..yup yup

Oh poop

So I decided to change my blogs appearance...because I am never really satisfied and like to tweak and change EVERYTHING, and in doing so lost my fav blog links and such. So if you were previously linked here, and no longer are...yell at me...it wasn't on purpose and I will add you back.

So I decided, perhaps I need a different job. I like the castle and the medieval theme, and its great I can maintain my elfness, but the castle is always empty when I am on, as most of the peeps are on Euro time...which is kinda like Hammer time..just newer *G*



So I decide to check out the various clubs with criteria in hand.

#1..Lag factor..tis not smexy (to most ppl) if you look like you are doing mr. roboto during a lap dance

#2..Music...I like good music, and I like most music..but I can only take "Bilingual" so many times before I want to wreck stuff and vomit.

#3..Club Layout...I so hate it when you are dancing, and you zoom around and end up outside the building or in another room and get stuck...because its all crampy and poorly designed.

#4..Attitude...I want it relaxed and fun

#5..overall impression outta 10

#6..rules, regulations, time zones...operating hours..blah blah blah



So I search and start tping down the list...and the Lag just about kills me on 90% of my landings.

I decide to pick up applications and fill them out at my leisure while gelaxin on my beach.

I notice a few of the places are very specific about measurements and skin and some even include their criteria..so I use the sliders and am actually happy about some of the changes. I also go shopping and pick out a skin that is commonly on the lists. A girl can never have too many skins, hair, or shoes...or swords!
